We test the quality of the water in the Nashwaak and its tributary once a month in the summer and fall. We have 12 water quality sites dispersed throughout the watershed. Here are the results from the tests taken July 5th-11th. Water temperatures have increased by approximately 5 degrees since last month. On the main stem of the Nashwaak, temperatures have already exceeded 20C, which according to DFO, is the threshold for physiological stress in the Atlantic salmon.
E. Coli results were all under the CCME limit for recreational waters (400 MPN/100 mL). … See MoreSee Less
